Indiana University President Michael McRobbie and former IU trustee Robert McKinney will be honored by the Anti-Defamation League in a ceremony April 24.

They will each receive the “Man of Achievement Award” from the civil rights and human rights group known for its work combating anti-Semitism. In 2009, IU established the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism, and McRobbie gave the opening address at a 2011 an international conference at IU examining the “new anti-Semitism.

McRobbie made headlines in late December for his strong stance against a boycott of Israeli higher education institutions by the American Studies Association, revoking the university’s membership with the ASA.
