SCOTUSblog editor to speak at the IU Maurer School of Law

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The editor of the nation’s leading blog on the U.S. Supreme Court will present a preview of the court’s current term at the IU Maurer School of Law on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Amy Howe, editor of SCOTUSblog and a partner at Goldstein & Russell P.C. in Washington, D.C., will give a preview of the Supreme Court's 2013-14 docket. She will discuss the cases the court has agreed to hear and the significance of those cases.
Howe has been editor of SCOTUSblog since 2003. She has served as counsel in more than two dozen merits cases at the Supreme Court and has argued two cases there. She has also argued in the District of Columbia and Fourth Circuits. From 2004 until 2011, she co-taught Supreme Court litigation at Stanford Law School; from 2005 until 2013, she co-taught a similar class at Harvard Law School. She has also served as an adjunct professor at American University’s Washington College of Law and Vanderbilt Law School. She is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center.
This event will take place at noon in the Law School’s Moot Court Room. It is free and open to the public, and Indiana continuing legal education credit has been applied for. Howe’s talk is co-sponsored by the Maurer School of Law chapters of the American Constitution Society and the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy.
