IU School of Optometry adds Brett King as ocular disease specialist

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University School of Optometry has announced the addition of Dr. Brett J. King as a clinical associate professor working in the Advanced Ocular Disease Service at the school’s Atwater Eye Care Center in Bloomington. Ocular disease specialists evaluate and treat patients with glaucoma, age-related eye disorders, diabetic and hypertensive eye disease, and other eye and vision abnormalities.

King returns to Indiana University Bloomington after receiving a Doctor of Optometry from the School of Optometry in 1998. Over the past 15 years he has worked as a consultative optometrist in glaucoma and retinal disease referral practice in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

A recipient of the Missouri Optometric Association’s 2003 Young OD of the Year award and the current director of education and president of Heart of America Contact Lens Society and Primary Eye Care Congress, King has helped conduct over 40 clinical research trials, has been published in the Journal of the American Optometric Association and other journals, and has presented at over 30 conventions and meetings.
