MEDIA ADVISORY: A Conversation about Hunger and Food Access

INDIANAPOLIS – Public Affairs graduate students in the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IUPUI, along with community partners, will present Pitch-In:  A Conversation about Hunger and Food Access this Thursday.  Community partners include Feeding Indiana’s Hungry, Growing Places Indy, Hope in the Harvest, Indiana Department of Agriculture, OxFam Action Corp, Second Helpings, Slow Food Indy and Dow AgroScience.

The event is free and open to the public.

WHAT: Pitch-In:  A Conversation about Hunger and Food Access

WHERE: Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, 1029 E. Fletcher Ave, Indianapolis, IN  46203

WHEN: Thursday, July 25, 2013, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Each of the panelists will have a booth and  participants can visit each booth to learn more about the panelists' organizations from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. There will be a panel discussion from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. moderated by Erika Smith.

The students are enrolled in SPEA V598, a foundations course in the Master of Public Affairs degree program.  Among other things, the course is designed to introduce students to the most challenging issues facing professionals who will lead our society in the future.
