Former Sen. Evan Bayh to speak at IU McKinney School of Law event on financial crisis
INDIANAPOLIS -- Former Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh will speak at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law during a national symposium April 5.
The event, “Law and the Financial Crisis,” will examine the connection between law and the financial crisis by pursuing three inquiries: law’s role in instigating the financial crisis; law’s effectiveness in addressing the financial crisis; and law’s potential in preventing the next financial crisis.
Bayh’s lecture will focus on his experience with the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs during the financial crisis, and his chair position on the Subcommittee on Security and International Trade and Finance. He also served on the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions, and Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance and Investment.
The symposium, open to the public, is sponsored by the Indiana Law Review, a legal periodical edited and managed by students of the IU McKinney School of Law that publishes scholarly articles by professors, judges and practitioners from throughout the country. Andrea Kochert is editor of a special issue of the Law Review that will contain the proceedings of the symposium.
